  • What does a fractional CFO do?
    Clients hire an executive with CFO (Chief Financial Officer) experience for a fraction of their time and at a fraction of the cost. CFO's specialize in risk management, cashflow management, acquisitions, and financing.
  • How are you different from my accountant?
    Accounting traditionally deals with historical events while fractional CFO work is focused on forward-looking planning.
  • Are fractional CFO's the same as management consultants?
    Fractional CFO's become embedded in and part of the company similar to part-time employees. Fractional CFO's aren't regulated like CPA's or professional agronomists. There's no standard definition for what a fractional CFO does or doesn't do. Engagement letters and scopes of work are important when dealing with a management consultant or fractional CFO.
  • What kind of response time can I expect working witih you?
    Our policy is that you can expect a response before the end of the next business day.
  • Do you do farm continuity (succession) planning and consulting?
    As a fractional CFO we believe in providing cross functional leadership which includes farm business continuity. We'll work as part of the transition team, or quarterback the plan from the exploratory to execution stage.
  • What type of reports do you provide?
    We'll work with management to determine what key reports are needed and develop deadlines to produce them.
  • Do you do cash flow forecasting?
    Yes, we believe cashflow forecasting is essential for all our clients and we'll work with you to develop a rolling cashflow forecast.
  • How do you prefer to communicate?
    Email and virtual calls are preferred for their effiicency. However, we'll work with clients to establish expectations around in person visits, phone calls, and text messaging.
  • How much does it cost?
